Visit Santa by train

Santa is coming to visit at Brecon Mountain Railway! Traveling by steam train from Pant Station to Santa’s grotto, children will receive presents on the festive journey, while adults can sit back and enjoy a mince pie and mulled wine.

Only a 30-minute drive from Heritage Park Hotel, the festive Santa Special steam train will take place from the end of November through to December 22nd – it’s sure to be one to remember.

Go underground

Wales is known for its rich mining history, and only 3 minutes’ walk from Heritage Park, you’ll find A Welsh Coal Mining Experience where you can take discover how black gold was mined, an experience led by tour guides who’ve worked more than 80 years underground.

There’s also an award-winning chocolate shop to stock up on the perfect gift for those at home, and a delicious café to take a break and revel in your newfound mining knowledge.

Just a 30-minute drive from Heritage Park, Cardiff City Centre is the perfect place to tackle any last-minute Christmas shopping, or take on the Boxing Day sales after the 25th December.

From the cosy independents in the Arcades to the high-street favourites of St David’s Dewi Sant, and the famous Christmas markets, there’s something for everyone, before you head back to the hotel to relax after a long day of retail therapy.
