Pit Pony Sanctuary

If you’re an animal lover, then don’t forget to visit Pit Pony Sanctuary at Fforest Uchaf Horse and Pony Rehabilitation Centre.

Enjoy a guided walk in the high pastures with a panoramic backdrop of the Taff Valley. You’ll be able to meet the ponies and see them enjoying their new happy lives after being rehomed by the amazing people at the sanctuary.

Zip World Aberdare

This is for all you adrenaline junkies!

Zip World offers the world’s fastest seated zip line, which will see you flying across the Welsh countryside. The attraction also includes adventure activity courses and mini zip lining adventures, all situated in the historic site of Tower Colliery coal mining site.

Zip through the Welsh valleys and take in the wonderful great outdoors in the most exhilarating way.

Barry Sidings Countryside Park

Whether you’re after a leisurely stroll around the lake, or prefer to bike up through the surrounding mountains, Barry Sidings Countryside Park is suitable for all.

Make a day of it and pack a picnic or enjoy lunch at the on-site cafe which serves plenty of delicious treats that you won’t be able to resist.

Rhondda Rollercoaster

If you’re the type to challenge yourself, then take a look at the Rhondda Rollercoaster.

The Gwen Matthews’ Rhondda Rollercoaster is a 26.5 mile walk and climbing challenge that explores the scenic Rhondda Valleys. Starting in Trehafod, you’ll trek through the wonderful Welsh mountains and get the chance to take in some of the most breath-taking views.

However, if you’re looking for something a little less intense, the challenge offers a 16 mile walk that invite you to enjoy the beautiful scenery just the same.
